Het niveau van het voordeel wordt bepaald op basis van de tot op heden beschikbare wetenschappelijke literatuur: LCA, klimaatveranderingsindicatoren, fytosanitaire behandelingen, eutrofiëring, gevolgen voor de biodiversiteit, koolstofopslag in de bodem, gevolgen voor ontbossing, enz.
